Parts, units, lessons
The course is built from parts, each a set of units, each unit a run of short lessons and exercises. You always see where you are, and every step is small enough to finish today.
Musicality and technique together
Melody from day one, bass notes when your hands are ready, and dynamics as soon as you can shape them. Technique always arrives inside real music, never as a drill for its own sake.
The words matter
You will never see a red mark in Tokklr. Practice is marked done, not judged, the way a good teacher nods and moves you on.

Open strings
You are playing before you press anything down. The first three note lengths arrive here: whole, half and quarter notes.

The melody strings
The top three strings, inside the first three frets, and the eighth note. It arrives inside real songs rather than as a drill.

A bass underneath
An open bass note on the first beat, with the melody following it. The dotted eighth note comes with it.

Both at once
Bass and melody together. No new rhythm here: instead you start shaping the sound, loud and soft, forte and piano.

Fretted basses
The same bass notes, now pressed in the first three frets. Pure technique, on the strings that carry the weight.
